A Diamante is a poem which appears on the surface to be a random collection of specific parts of speech written on a diamond shaped frame. 

In reality, the diamante poem is a comparison of two concepts based upon a detailed analysis of each. The poem is limited to seven lines with the parts of speech arranged in a specified pattern.
